Giro d'Italia 2010 5th June 2010
Taking place in Italy in June 2010 this event will be both exciting and fascinating as we tour Italy with one of the most amazing selections of Supercars to be seen on the road.
Over the course of six nights the Giro d'Italia will provide you with luxury hotels and five days of some of the most enjoyable driving available in Italy as you tour the beautiful countryside, passing through Tuscany, Umbria, Liguria, Abruzzo, Emiglia Romagna, the Portofino Coast and finally finish in Monte Carlo.
The combination of culture, history, scenery and delicious food is hard to beat and the enthusiasm the Italians have for Supercars is legendary.
Starting in Florence on the 5th of June this holiday will see you driving your car from luxury hotel to luxury hotel, typically driving between 200 and 250 miles per day, taking in some of the most spectacular scenery Italy has to offer before you cross the finish line on the 10th of June in Casino Square in Monte Carlo, where you will spend your final night at the Hotel de Paris and enjoy a gala prize giving dinner.
Along the way you will visit coastlines and mountains, vineyards and historic monuments and on a couple of days drive along some of the most famous roads known to any Supercar enthusiast - those of the legendary Mille Miglia, as well as tunnel after glorious tunnel on your last day as you follow the Italian Riviera into Monte Carlo.
As always with Supercar Club events, accommodation will be of the highest standard available. This means luxury hotels every night. In some towns certain roads and Piazzas will be closed especially for the event, so that you have special access, and with the help of our friends at Lions Club Firenze Poggio Imperiale in Florence and guidance from the Polizia Municpale Firenze who have been very helpful in assisting with organizing the Giro d'Italia, we have some very special priviledges that are not afforded to other people when they visit Italy.
The Giro will be raising money for children with AIDS charity, a small UK based charity that helps make the lives of children suffering with and from HIV a little easier, as well as Combat Stress another UK based charity which helps servicemen who have been deeply affected by their experiences in combat situations. There is no obligation to raise money but we encourage teams to raise what they can.
The Giro d'Italia will be as compeitive as you want it to be. You will be given a full and detailed route which is easy to follow and along with the maps provided will take you along roads you might otherwise never find and lead you to a series of cryptic clues which if you solve them will earn you points. These can be a little tricky but with some fantastic prizes on offer from our impressive sponsors, we can't make it too easy!
As always with Supercar Club events, there will be a full support package provided for you, including six support vehicles; service crews to come to your aid if you have any mechanical issues and marshal crews to help you with the route or offer any other assistance you might need. In addition we can transport your luggage from hotel to hotel along the route if you have limited space in your car.
